Almost Halloween...

i love interiors.

Photography by Michael Eastman

today is fantastic. i love when things get busy and i go a little crazy and a million tasks get accomplished all at once. its really the only way i can be productive.

and yet...this is just the calm before the storm. if all next week goes well, it could lead to some positive changes and more responsibility, which i really want. i hate feeling like i have to prove something, but i do.

...what am i going to do if my life slows down? i think i might die.

the best editorials are in all the european magazines. they aren't afraid to take things to another level, or push the envelope.

nobel.

there's been a little controversy over the decision to give Obama the Nobel Peace Prize. let me begin by saying that i was surprised at the decision, and it does seem a little premature because a lot of it seems to ride on things to come...

...however, work towards peace and change doesn't happen solely through the passing of laws, or the pulling of troops. the first and maybe most important step is to actually inspire people that it is even possible.

and i think that President Obama has more than done that.

so my verdict:
a surprising decision? yes.
a little premature? yes.
a terrible decision? no.

colorful transition to fall.

Editorial, Vogue UK

i had to post this because it reminds me of today, it's a beautiful transition from summer to fall, and the colors are spectacular.

life is better now that i'm sewing again.

all of the sudden the piles of unused fabric in my room don't look so daunting. in fact, they look very similar to the new wardrobe i plan on having by christmas...

...god, i'm so loving phoenix right now.

the little things.

i bought an overlock machine today. opening it and threading the four different spools through the hooks and needles and having it cut and sew perfect professional seams was the highlight of my day.

at the store where i purchased the machine, i met the most fantastic 63 year old woman who works there. we ended up chatting for an hour. i think she is fabulous and want to take her to coffee one day.

also, "girlfriend" by phoenix playing deafeningly loud in massive headphones makes me want to move and dance and shake my hair and cry and be incredibly happy all at once... which is kind of how i've been feeling all day.
